Prasoon Suchandra

Hi! I am a fourth year PhD student at Georgia Institute of Technology. I am running 2019 Publix Atlanta Full Marathon to raise funds for Asha for Education, a fully volunteer-run non-profit organization which supports projects in India involved in education and vocational training of underprivileged children and women. I have been part of Asha for over three years now and have been amazed by the extraordinary impact it makes. Being a fully volunteer-run organization, the overheads are less than 2%. The NGOs (non-government, non-profit organizations) funded by Asha are constantly monitored and scrutinized by volunteers like me to make sure that all the donations are utilized appropriately and effectively. Click here to know more about the projects we support. I ran 2018 Publix Georgia Half Marathon and it was a great experience. I also participated in 2018 Georgia Tech Pi Mile Race and 2018 AJC Peachtree 10K Road Race with fellow runners from Team Asha. This season, I have been running/training with Team Asha for my first marathon (26.2 mi, 42.2 km). With support and training from these wonderful people, I should be ready for the race-day on March 17. To check my training log, visit I will be highly grateful if you can support me (and Asha at large) in this step towards helping these children realize their dreams and bringing education to their lives. No donation is small. Every penny counts! “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today” – Malcolm X
