I am a second year PhD student in Operations Research at GeorgiaTech. I have started running in January this year and I plan to run a half marathon by the end of summer because running for a cause is motivating and satisfying.
Describe Team Asha Atlanta in one word:
What makes you fundraise for Asha:
A very simple yet strong reason: When we see underprivileged people we feel pity for them. I believe they deserve something more substantial and my fundraising as part of `Team Asha Atlanta’ is a way of providing them with some tangible support.
A message to the donors:
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the living conditions of the rural and underprivileged children in India. We can guess that most of these students would have had to drop out of school during this period. We, who have the resources, can come together to support the education of these children through any feasible contributions.
Every $100 raised can provide 1 year of education to 25 children. I believe actions and awareness are key drivers of positive change so I joined Team Asha Atlanta in January and I will be fundraising through a 10 km run. I request the donors to have a look at my efforts and if you think it is significant please donate and spread the idea for which Team Asha is working tirelessly everyday.
