Divya Jyoti, Mysore, Karnataka: 
Divya Jyothi Charitable trust for the Blind was set up to provide a helping hand to the blind. Their goal is to provide high standard welfare, support the visually impaired through education, employment, scholarships and accommodation to promote their independence, dignity and quality of life. The trust runs a Braille transcription center, computer training classes, language skills training and also provides hostel facilities for the visually impaired.

Lok Chetana Samiti: 
The goal of this project is to ensure a safe home to girls from the extremely marginalized Musahar community and other underprivileged children from the local community (from all religions and castes). Send the children to nearby schools and provide tuition support. A Spain based NGO funded the construction of a hostel building for the girls which was inaugurated in July 2017. Asha for Education will fund the cost of the day-to-day operations of the girls hostel.

Spastics Society of Karnataka
he Spastics Society of Karnataka was founded in 1982. It aims to assist with the integration of children with disabilities into the mainstream community. The Society also works at creating awareness among people about prevention of disabilities such as cerebral palsy.
In the “Appropriate Learning” project, education is individually planned based on the abilities of the children. They try to provide the children with an education that will allow them to lead lives that are as independent as possible. This includes teaching basic needs such as math, language and environmental sciences. As the children grow older, other prevocational & vocational skills are also taught.

INSEED- Muktangan:
The goal of this project is to support Muktangan, a non-formal education centre run by Indic Society for Education and Development (INSEED). Muktangan has a literacy centre for alternative education, toy and book library, and other activity centres for children at Nashik. Main focus of these centers has been to create awareness towards importance of literacy, and further help individuals to enroll them in regular schools (day boarding or residential school, depend upon the family circumstances). Also education on English, basic mathematics, science, cleanlinees and hygiene is provided.

Jeevan Gnanodaya:
Jeevan Gnanodaya School for the Deaf and Mentally retarded is a wing of the Jeevan Gnanodaya Charitable Trust. It has been functioning in Chengalpattu since 1989. The schools shelters and educates deaf,speech-impaired and mentally retarded children from poor, rural backgrounds. When children are admitted their
hearing level is determined and they are given the hearing aid equipment necessary for them.

Kalyania- Prayas Center:
This project is to support a prayas center for special education and vocational training for children of the deprived in Kalyani, West Bengal.The key objectives are holistic education for deprived children living by the river bank or ghettoes; empowerment of women and children through non-formal and vocational education and training; health care for children, women, the old in the community deprived financially,psychologically or both; to build a life support system for the gerent logically advanced; and strong health care for the outreach where the public sector health care module is unable to reach.

Vidya and Child:
Currently, a Quality of Education Improvement project is supported by Asha-Wide Intiaitive. In 2010, a Non Formal School Programme is supported led by Vidya and Child. The merits of non formal school programme: (a) It builds a strong foundation for the child so that the child can aspire to finish school education and go in for higher education.
(b) Learning is facilitated thrugh various activities rather than being based in rote.
(c) The child is exposed to various activities other than academics like art & craft, kathak, tabla, music, computers

Bhagavathula Charitable Trust:
This project is aimed at generating self-employment in 100 villages through providing meaningful training program to 400 hundred young adults enabling them to be self-sufficient and remain in their villages, thereby generating confidence. Youth from 100 nearby villages will be gathered and trained in skills that would assist them in becoming self-reliant.

Prayas Centre for Special Education and Vocational Training:

The project strives to provide education, health care and nutritional support to children with special needs through the Integrated School and Community Based Rehabilitation Programme. Prayas’ novel approach of inclusive education for all children – challenged and non-challenged children – encourages learning an interaction that has truly worked wonders.

Gram Mangal:
This project is to support GRAM MANGAL to provide alternative education to children in rural areas. GRAMMANGAL is a registered non-government organization working in the field of education. It was established by Anutai Wagh, the well-known educationist in Maharashtra, in 1982. For the past more than twenty years, GM is working in pre-primary and primary education.

Vidya Vanam – Bhuvana Foundation:
This project is to support part of educational costs associated with Vidyavanam school led by Bhuvana Foundation.The Bhuvana foundation has put in place the infrastucture that will mee the needs of 50 students. The educational objectives of the school are to ensure that the chidren are able to read, write and be competent in computational skills

RN Basu Girls’ High School:
This project is to support part of the cost for creating an infrastructure facility for RN Basu Girls’ High School in Haora district, West Bengal.The school is required to have a complete own building of its own.

Humana People to People India — Academy of Working Children -Bhabapur:
This project is to provide partial support to HPPI for their academy of working children in Bhabapur Village,Sahibabad Industrial Area, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.The goal is to provide basic education up to 3rd grade and life skills training; then to facilitate the working children to get admission in nearby government school for further study, and at the same time, to raise awareness among the parents.

Cyclone Aila Relief:
Hundreds are dead and more than 3 millions people are displaced from their homes in southern WB by
Cyclone Aila in May 2009.This project is to provide financial support to Mukti and BTS, two NGOs active in those areas (already supported by mutltiple Asha chapters) so that they can provide food, water, shelter and medical helps to people in worst affected ares .

Parijat Academy:
Parijat Academy is a school for underprivileged children. Location
village -Pamohi, Guwahati, Assam.Parijat Academy is covering 7 tribal villages namely Pamohi,
Maghuapara, Deosutal, Mainakhorong, Dhalboma, Nowagaon, Garoghuli.
It is a long term project.

Vidyarambam:
Asha is currently supporting about 50 Balawadis and 50 remedial centers in the Nagapattinam district, Tamilnadu. While the balwadi provide literacy to pre-primary children, the remedial centers serve as a bridge classes for older children who are enrolled in Govt. schools. In wake of the Tsunami, a mobile toy center to boost the morale of the affected children is also supported.

Maintenance of Book Bank:
To provide resources for maintenance of a book bank in West Bengal, led by rural development unit, Ramakrishna Misson Ashrama, Narendrapur. This book bank will provide education materials to the needy as well as meritorious students from rural and urban areas.

Anandadhara- SPAN:

Society for People’s Awareness (SPAN) runs education centers at nine slums of Kolkata and Suburbs. Wherein the children in difficult circumstances are motivated to drop in these centers, get the nurturing through joyful
learning and mainstreamed in government schools. All these centers are under the name of Anandadhara Shikshayatan. Thus it so conceptualized that SPAN’s intervention in the area of education is known by Anandadhara.

Prajnalaya, Assam:
Prajnalaya strives to give knowledge of self-reliance through manual labor and involvement of local people.By giving vocational education, it will help the pupils to find out the way of livelihood and also will give the ability to cope with the competitive world. We are planning for a number of initiatives including to extend and open fishery in the premises of the school, opening training for handloom with a target group of village women, a offset and DTP training center and organic fertilizer.

Vivekananda Kendra – Rural development programme:

The goal of this project is to build a pre-primary school at Chekkarakudi , Thoothkudi District in Tamil Nadu, India. The main objective of the Vivekananda Kendra which is a spiritually oriented service-mission based on Swami Vivekananda’s famous pronouncement “each soul is potentially divine”, shall be to undertake the program of Rural Development for promoting the Social and Economic Welfare of, or the uplift of, the public in any rural area.

Sahyog – Mumbai, Maharashtra:

Sahyog is a school for girls in the Jari Mari Basti in Mumbai. It caters to the needs of adolescent girls who have had to drop out of school due to various societal pressures.

Rehabilitation Center for Blind Women:
The institution is the first of its kind in south India, which aims at providing rehabilitation, vocational training and placement services to adult blind women particularly for women who are completely blind, deprived blind, below the poverty line and from the remote villages in Tiruchirappalli District, Tamil Nadu.

Door Step School, Mumbai District, Maharashtra:
Doorstep School operates in the slums of South Mumbai (Ward A). The population is migrant and most of the adults and the children work in the docks, at construction sites and as hawkers.

Vanavasi Ashram :
Establsihed in 1997, the Vanavasi Ashram project has established a new facility for students in the backward Kerala district of Wayanand. The goal is to teach basic trades including vegetableand fruit gardening, stitching, tailoring, basket weaving, clay modeling, music, archery and yoga. Today, classes are held in the newly constructed facility (begun in 2001) and there has been a significant improvement in children’s education and health in the village.

CCD (Centers for Communication and Development) :
About 10 schools are under the direction of the CCD and funds are needed for teachers, staff, books and computers.
